the stress hormone rises.  We learn from natural stressful situations with distractors.  Paying attention to the PRESENT moment reduces our anxiety to acquire new skills and makes cognitive tasks easier.  We adopt mindfulness practice in our speech therapy session to nurture compassion, curiosity and focus.
